Dynashear® CX is an inline high shear mixer built for chemical processing applications where dispersion quality and batch-to-batch uniformity drive product performance. In a recirculation loop or continuous line, the rotor/stator shear zone delivers intense, localized shear to help wet out powders, break down agglomerates, and improve emulsion stability—especially in demanding formulations with higher solids loading or shear-sensitive outcomes.
Inline high shear mixing is often used to standardize results by controlling residence time through the shear head and reducing dependence on tank surface vortexing. Explore the configuration options below to match Dynashear® CX to your flow rate, viscosity range, and process goals. For an equipment-type overview (inline vs in-tank and when each wins), refer to our High shear mixer guide.
HOW IT WORKS
The performance and success of high shear in-line mixers can be measured in droplet size (particle size) reduction, particle size distribution, and flow/processing rates under varying viscosity conditions. The Dynashear CX series of inline high shear mixers excels in all of these characteristics when compared to competitive inline mixers.
A single pass through the Dynashear CX results in product quality typical of several passes through conventional mixers.
The Dynashear CX is the first inline emulsifier to feature a dual stage tandem head design that combines the benefits of both an axial and a radial stage creating excellent shear and flow characteristics.
Primary Axial Stage
The axial stage consists of a high flow rotor feeding into a stator with multiple small ports, forcing material between their faces and out through the ports. This mechanical and hydraulic action causes a tremendous shearing action and “pre-mixes” the material prior to the secondary stage.
Secondary Radial Stage
The radial stage consists of a radial, high flow rotor discharging through a slotted stator providing additional mechanical and hydraulic shear. The centrifugal force at this stage allows the mixture to be pushed away from the shaft and along the radius of the stator, with high speed expulsion occurring at the edge of the slots. This stage provides a substantial momentum change in flow, resulting in beneficial residence time that further refines the mixture.
