In-Tank High Shear Mixing Processes for Chemical Manufacturing

In-tank high shear mixing processes are a core tool in chemical manufacturing when dispersion quality, wet-out, and batch repeatability can’t be left to chance. A rotor/stator high shear head applies intense localized shear directly in the vessel, helping pull powders below the surface, break down agglomerates, and accelerate dispersion and emulsification steps. These processes are commonly used for paints and coatings, adhesives and sealants, inks, battery slurries, and resin systems—especially when pigments, fillers, or rheology modifiers create stubborn clumps or long cycle times. In-tank high shear mixing improves consistency while keeping the process flexible for batch production.
