Rotostat™ CX is a high shear emulsifier for chemical manufacturing processes where emulsion stability, dispersion uniformity, and batch-to-batch consistency drive final product performance. Its in-tank rotor/stator mixing head delivers controlled, localized shear while promoting strong circulation—helping form stable emulsions and improving uniformity when formulations are sensitive to droplet size, additive distribution, or persistent agglomerates.

Chemical emulsification often demands predictable results across varying viscosity ranges and solids behavior, especially when small changes in dispersion quality affect downstream performance. Use this page to determine whether Rotostat™ CX is the right fit for your emulsification step and to select the best configuration for your vessel size and process goals. For a broader comparison of high shear technologies—including inline vs in-tank and when wet milling or a colloid mill is required—refer to our High shear mixer guide.

Top features:

  • High shear emulsification and uniformity for chemical formulations

  • Controlled rotor/stator shear + strong circulation for consistent results

  • Configurable options for process constraints (viscosity, materials, sealing packages)

  • Scalable configurations from lab to production

HOW IT WORKS

Admix-box-RotostatOur emulsifier's mixing head, a beacon of innovation, features a meticulously designed internal rotor that is encased by a stator, which not only revolves freely but is also equipped with three robust external paddle blades. This unique design ingeniously limits the stator’s rotation to approximately 1/10th of the rotor’s speed. To illustrate, in the presence of water-like materials, the stator gracefully rotates at 360 RPM, complementing a rotor shaft that whirls at an impressive speed of 3600 RPM. This thoughtful engineering embodies our commitment to providing solutions that are not only innovative but also reliable, supportive, and immensely helpful in optimizing your mixing processes.

The rotor draws the product into the stator where the high shear action between the high-speed rotor blades and the slowly revolving stator rim subjects the material to an effective milling and grinding action prior to being expelled with high velocity through outlets in the stator rim.

As the emulsifier's outlets become the gateway, particles, agglomerates, and solids embark on a transformative journey. Here, they are met with a powerful symphony of cutting and disintegrating forces, meticulously engineered for an unparalleled reduction in particle sizes. This process is not just about size reduction; it's a testament to our innovative approach to optimizing every phase of the mixing process with precision and care.

Throughout the process, every particle within the vessel is guaranteed multiple encounters with the emulsifier's innovative mixing head, ensuring a uniform product is realized in mere minutes. This stands in stark contrast to traditional emulsifiers/high shear mixers, which may labor for hours to achieve similar results.
